Who we are
Oceans of Insight (OoI) is an independent marine conservation and research organisation dedicated to uncovering the mysteries of our planet’s most vital ecosystems. Founded by a former Naval Officer with 15 years of maritime experience across surface ships, submarines, and hydrographic operations, our foundation is built on an intimate knowledge of the sea, rigorous operational discipline, and absolute scientific integrity.
We bridge the gap between complex marine science and the public. We believe that protecting our oceans requires more than just passive awareness—it demands objective truth, active exploration, and a collective effort.
Our Mission
Our mission is to advance the protection of marine life through quality scientific research, rigorous fieldwork, and accessible data. From tracking critical coastal habitats to mapping the biological marvels of the sea, we are committed to providing the data-driven insights necessary to preserve our oceans for generations to come.
How We Work
We don’t rely on guesswork or hyperbole. We operate at the intersection of advanced technology and community engagement to deliver measurable conservation outcomes.
Rigorous Fieldwork & Surveying: Leveraging technical maritime systems we collect precise data on everything from coastal seagrass meadows to microplastic distribution.
Authoritative Science: We ground all of our content, research, and advocacy in verifiable facts. If the data doesn't support it, we don't publish it.
Citizen Science: True conservation requires a collective. We actively empower the public through structured citizen science initiatives, turning everyday ocean lovers into vital contributors to global research databases.
Our Vision for the Future
We are playing the long game. Guided by a structured multi-year operational roadmap, we are building a scalable framework for marine conservation. Our trajectory takes us from local pilot projects to national scaling, with long-term plans to expand our research footprint into Southeast Asia, the Caribbean, and international waters.
